8TH MARCH INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
International Women’s Day takes place every year on 8th March to celebrate the achievements of women all over the world. It started with a protest that took place in New York City in 1908 where women went out onto the streets to demand the right to vote, shorter working hours and better pay. Since then it has taken many forms and today it’s a global event that is supported by lots of charities, NGOs, governments and academic institutions.
In our center we are going to celebrate in in the following way:
- *Filling the biography of important women related to the name of the streets around the city of Cadiz. This activity is within the project carried out in our center, Pintor Zuloaga in the last 2 years in which students have been investigating about the origin of different names of most streets in Cadiz.
- This week we will work on the following template to keep searching on it! But this time...in English :)
- Women in Cadiz (Template)
- *Knowing more about the rights of women throughout the history
- *Writing about a woman of reference by our students
